HOW WE HELP YOU

Wollongong Disability Services is a specialised support service designed to help people living with disabilities improve their physical health, movement, mobility and overall wellbeing through structured exercise programs.

Our Exercise Physiology programs are tailored to each participant’s individual goals, abilities and support needs. Whether you are looking to improve strength, reduce pain, increase mobility, build confidence or maintain independence, our team provides practical support that fits your lifestyle.

Led by qualified professionals with real experience in disability and rehabilitation support, we focus on creating safe, achievable and enjoyable exercise plans that support long-term wellbeing — not just short-term results.

We understand that every participant is different, which is why our approach is always personalised, supportive and built around genuine care.

“Exercise should feel empowering, supportive and achievable — helping you move better, feel stronger and live more confidently every day.”

What is an exercise physiologist?

An exercise physiologist is a university-qualified allied health professional who uses movement and exercise to treat and manage injury, chronic conditions and disability.

It is a clinical qualification, not a fitness one - which means working safely with complex conditions, several diagnoses at once, and people who have been told to be careful about exercising.

Accredited Exercise Physiologists are accredited by Exercise and Sports Science Australia, the national professional body. That accreditation is what allows exercise physiology to be delivered and funded as an allied health service under the NDIS.
